The overall aim of counselling is to provide the opportunity for a client to move towards a more satisfying life through the development of their personal resources. People often reach out for counselling when they are at a point of feeling stuck or overwhelmed. We work together to empower you to live according to your own values, and to rely on an internal locus of control in determining what is right for you. I offer both in-person and online sessions, as well as walk-and-talk therapy. Exercise is good for both body and mind, and I feel that it can also enhance the client-counsellor rapport for some people. The thought of walking and talking rather than speaking with a counsellor in an office setting or via video may be more comfortable for certain people, or at specific times during the counselling process. Nature does a wonderful job of regulating the nervous system, and being in nature can help some people feel more centred and can enable them to open up more.
